Portions of Arlington Pond and all of Taylor Reservoir will be treated with an herbicide to control the growth of nuisance aquatic vegetation that was identified in a survey of the water bodies. This treatment will be administered by Solitude Lake Management and will take place on Tuesday July 26, 2022. There will be certain restrictions in place during and after the treatment which are the following:
• No swimming for 6 hours following treatment
• Do not use this water to irrigate turf and landscape ornamentals for a period of 2 days post-treatment
• Do not use this water to irrigate ornamentals grown for production in greenhouse and/or nursery for a period of 5 days post-treatment.
This work is permitted through the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. For more specific details, please see the attached notices including treatment area maps. This work was approved by the Salem Board of Selectmen and is being funded through the Arlington Pond Protective Association.
