Novel Coronavirus

Cover your Cough, Clean your Hands

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus is a new virus that causes respiratory illness in people and can spread from person-to-person.  The greatest risk of infection is for people who have traveled to the Wuhan region of China.  At this time, all cases of this virus in the US are related to people who have traveled from China.  Two cases are being monitored in NH but have not been confirmed to be the Novel Coronavirus.  The symptoms of this virus include fever, cough and shortness of breath.

"The risk to our communities in New Hampshire is low,” according to NH State epidemiologist Dr. Benjamin Chan. "However, people should protect themselves from all types of flu viruses by washing your hands often, avoiding sick people, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue and staying home when sick."
