How to Contact the Salem Police Department

To report a crime in progress, dial 9-1-1.

If you are reporting a crime that has occurred in the past and is not an emergency, dial the main number at (603) 893-1911.

To obtain a copy of a police report, contact the Records Unit at (603) 890-2332.

To speak with someone in Prosecution, call (603) 890-2340.

To schedule a detail officer, call (603) 890-2382 during normal business hours. All other times, contact (603) 893-1911.

To speak with the Property/Evidence Officer, call (603) 890-2323.

To contact the Investigative Services Unit, call (603) 890-2310.

The Salem Police Department DOES NOT accept reports of crimes via this web site.
