PRESS RELEASE – Wednesday, September 6, 2017

SALEM, NH

The Board of Selectmen is pleased to announce that it has come to agreement of terms with Interim Town Manager Christopher Dillon to become Town Manager effective upon ratification of a new contract.

Further the Board is announcing it is suspending its search effort with Community Paradigm Associates, LLC, a municipal management-consulting firm previously selected by the Board to recruit a new town manager. In a phone call earlier this afternoon with Bernie Lynch Managing Partner of Paradigm Associates, Michael Lyons Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, extended the Town’s gratitude for the firm’s professionalism and hard work. In addition Mr. Lyons asked that thanks be extended to all the applicants who had already expressed an interest in the position.

At their meeting on September 11, 2017, the Board will be asked to ratify a new contract with Mr. Dillon to serve as Salem’s next Town Manager. Mr. Dillon has impressed the Board during his stint as Interim Town Manager and the board decided to move now in the best interest of the community. Although new to the Town Manager role, Mr. Dillon is well known and respected in the Salem community, having served as Salem’s Recreation and later Community Services Director for nearly a decade. In addition to his time in Salem, Mr. Dillon has extensive New Hampshire municipal experience and also holds a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from UNH.
