Whereas many Town departments provide their services directly to the citizens, businesses or other external agencies, the Information Technology Department's primary customers are other Town departments. The fundamental role of the IT Department is to support Town departments in the implementation of their plans to deliver services to citizens and other customers. These systems and technologies provide department personnel with information relative to their operations, support strategic planning, promote effective resource management, enhance customer service and promote internal and external communications. The Information Technology Department and the technologies it can implement are major resources for increasing Town productivity and effectiveness.
