Inspectors' office hours are:
8:30-9:30AM & 4:00-5:00PM, Monday-Friday


The Building Division is located in the front of the Town Hall at 33 Geremonty Drive. The inspectors are available in the office from 8:30-9:30AM and 4:00-5:00PM, Monday through Friday. This time is for anyone wishing to have a permit issued. Between the hours of 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM the inspectors are conducting inspections in the field.

The building division is responsible for overseeing construction within its jurisdiction by implementation and enforcement of local codes and ordinances so as to provide for minimal standards to ensure the public health, safety, and welfare relative to new construction, the maintenance of existing buildings, and to safely secure life and property from the hazards incident to the occupancy of buildings.

Sam Zannini who is the Chief Building Official and also the Plumbing Inspector will issue plumbing and gas permits and performs the required inspections. Sam is also responsible for the organization and daily operation of Department functions and staff, as well as serving as the Zoning Board of Adjustment liaison.

Mike DiBartolomeo is the Building Inspector and issues permits for new homes, residential renovations and alterations, three season porches, garages, commercial buildings and commercial renovations, alterations, in-law apartments, accessory apartments and other related building needs. Mike also may provide technical expertise relative to code requirements for the private and non-private sectors.

Ken Sherwood is the Electrical Inspector. Ken issues permits for all electrical work. Ken also issues permits for all sheds, decks, pools, and signs and performs required inspections to ensure code compliance. Ken also may provide technical expertise relative to code requirements for the private and non-private sectors.

Pamela Russell is the Administrative Assistant. Pam provides secretarial support to the divisions administrative and inspectional staff.

In addition, the Building Division enforces the zoning ordinance. The Division has separate plumbing, gas and electrical specifications that are more stringent than the state codes require permits and inspections for the installation, repair and/or replacement of equipment and systems within their jurisdiction.
